Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is Barton’s Angels different from home health agencies, like the
Visiting Nurse’s Association?
A: As a small, local business, I personally find out what you would like and
schedule "angels" to meet you and do the things that need to be done.
Barton's Angels focuses on private home care services to elders and their
families. Agencies serving people with disabilities also use Barton's Angels
to supplement their staff. Because services are paid for privately, there are
not the restrictions and limitations which are required by Medicare or other
insurance funded services. YOU are the boss.
Q: What do "angels" do?
A: "Angels" love to be helpful in just about anyway. Services are
individualized based on your situation. Some people need help with errands,
some with housekeeping, some with personal care (bathing), some with
special projects.
Angels are employees of Barton's Angels and are covered by Worker's
Compensation and Professional Liability insurances. Customers pay an
hourly rate for services, with a minimum of 2 hours.
Q: How do I get an "angel"?
A: Elders, individuals with disabilities, family members, and friends can get
the ball rolling by calling Nancy Whitley at any reasonable
hour. If we have staff available for your needs then great. If not, then we
would need to recruit additional "angels" with you in mind. Many times it is
helpful to meet to have faces to put with the names. Our initial meeting is
always free of charge and you are in no way obligated by that meeting.
